Written by Support

DZBuild ships 7 selectable themes. A theme is the design of your homepage — header, hero, product grid, sections and footer. The features below summarize what each theme is best at; switch between them any time from Dashboard → Themes.

⚠️ Warning — A lower plan changes your theme's default colours

Locked cards in the picker show a lock badge and a button naming the plan you need, such as Passer à Pro / الترقية إلى Pro. If your store moves to a plan below the one your theme needs, for example when you renew on a lower plan, the theme keeps rendering and the layout is not reverted. What does change is the theme's default colour set: the colour layer falls back to Starter's defaults for any colour you never set yourself, and the theme card is locked in the picker until you upgrade. While a paid plan is expired, visitors see a store-unavailable page instead of your storefront until you renew.

🛑 Important — Digital is a mode switch, not a skin

Digital is the digital-goods-only theme. Activating it converts your store to digital mode: the storefront stops collecting wilaya / commune / address, and shipping rates, courier integration and cash-on-delivery are disabled. The picker forces you through a confirmation modal, with a 10-second cooldown before the confirm button unlocks, spelling out that physical products with delivery are not supported. The card also carries a "Produits digitaux uniquement / للمنتجات الرقمية فقط" badge.

How to pick

  • Mostly one product / a hero campaign → don't pick a theme at all — use Landing Pages. They render outside the theme system entirely, so a theme switch never affects them (and Custom CSS does not apply to them either).

  • Many SKUs in a utility category (hardware, kitchen, automotive, building supplies) → Brico. Big category tiles, filters, and a mobile bottom nav.

  • Tech / electronics / streetwear → Started V2, or Promobi if you're on Enterprise and want a bold monochrome brand look.

  • Beauty / cosmetics → Bloom.

  • Fashion / jewellery / gifts → Prestige. Photography-first layout with airy spacing.

  • Digital goods (game top-ups, licences, gift cards, e-books) → Digital, and only then.

  • Anything else, or unsure → Starter. It's neutral and fast; switch later when you know what kind of catalog you have.

Switching themes

Dashboard → Themes (/dashboard/themes). Click Activer ce thème / تفعيل هذا القالب on the card. The new theme serves on the next page load. Storefront pages are cached for a few minutes, so a visitor who already had a page open can still see the old theme for up to about five minutes, and there is no manual purge.

No data is lost when switching:

  • Products, categories, orders, customers, addons, domains, payment & shipping settings — all preserved.

  • Hero copy, section titles, the banner and your colours live on the store and are shared by all themes — they carry over rather than being stored per-theme. A theme with no banner slot (Starter, Brico, Promobi) simply doesn't render one.

  • Digital's own layout data (hero slider, two promo banners, category strip, top sellers, popular-by-category, multi-column block) and Prestige's testimonials are stored separately. Digital's data survives a round trip. Prestige's testimonials survive too, unless you press Save on the customize page while Digital is active: that save clears them.

⚠️ Warning

Switching to Digital rewrites any colours still sitting at their defaults to Digital's dark palette, and switching back does not undo that. Re-set your background, navbar, navbar text, footer and section-title colours by hand.

Which pages a theme actually changes

A theme redesigns your home page. The product page, checkout and order-tracking page look the same on every theme except Digital, which is the one theme that brings its own version of all three. The cart, category, all-products and order-confirmation pages look the same on every theme, Digital included, and cannot be themed at all.

The header, footer and product card are also shared across themes, with two exceptions on the home page: Brico comes with its own footer design, and Promobi with its own centred-logo header. Whichever theme you are on, cart, checkout and orders behave identically.

Once you've picked a theme

Customize colors, banners, hero and footer from Dashboard → Customize. See storefront customization for the full control list.
