Themes

DZBuild ships 7 selectable storefront themes — Starter, Digital, Brico, Showcase, Prestige, Promobi, Bloom. Switch any time without losing data.

Written by Support

DZBuild ships 7 selectable themes. A theme sets the whole look of your homepage — header, hero, product grid, sections and footer. Pick the one that fits the kind of catalog you sell, then customize colors, banners and copy from the dashboard.

⚠️ Warning — Digital is a mode switch, not a skin

Activating Digital converts your store to digital-products mode. The storefront then stops collecting wilaya / commune / address, and shipping rates, courier integration and cash-on-delivery are disabled. Don't pick it for physical products — for tech and streetwear use Showcase or Promobi, and for beauty use Bloom.

⚠️ Warning — Themes above your plan

showcase is Pro, prestige and bloom are Unlimited, promobi is Enterprise. Your theme keeps rendering even if the plan lapses — the layout is not reverted. What does change is the theme's default colour set: the colour layer falls back to Starter's defaults for any colour you never set yourself, and the theme card is locked in the picker until you upgrade.

The slug is the theme's short name; the picker shows the display name.

Where to switch theme

Dashboard → Themes (/dashboard/themes). Click Activer ce thème / تفعيل هذا القالب on the theme card. Themes above your plan show a lock badge and an Upgrade link to /dashboard/subscribe instead. Picking Digital opens a confirmation modal (with a 10-second cooldown before the confirm button unlocks) warning that the theme is for digital products only.

Customizing the theme you're on

Dashboard → Customize (/dashboard/customize). There is no /dashboard/customize/prestige page — Prestige's options (hero, categories, featured, banner, branding, testimonials) appear as extra sections inside the normal customize page once Prestige is active, and every other theme works the same way. A legacy standalone /dashboard/customize/digital URL exists but is not linked from any menu and redirects to /dashboard/customize if your theme isn't Digital.

What every theme lets you customize

The customize page (/dashboard/customize) covers the basics across all themes:

  • Header & Logo — logo and favicon (Pro+ for the favicon). There is no separate social-card image; your logo is reused as the share image.

  • Colours & font — primary, secondary, background (Pro+), section titles (Pro+), font (Cairo / Tajawal / Almarai), button style. Live preview.

  • Hero — desktop and mobile hero images plus headline, sub-headline and CTA text/link. No hero video.

  • Banners — a promo banner on Showcase, Prestige and Bloom; two banners plus a 3-slide hero slider on Digital; none on Starter, Brico or Promobi.

  • Featured products / categories — you can toggle the blocks on/off and rename them. Which products appear is set by the Featured switch on each product in the product editor, and the homepage shows at most 8. Categories come from the Categories page.

  • Product page order (Pro+) — drag the product-page blocks (gallery, category, title, price, offers, variants, addons, buy buttons, fast checkout, description) into any order.

  • Footer — colour (Pro+), About text, copyright, social links (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, GitHub), one custom link, and a "hide DZBuild branding" switch on Unlimited+.

Cart pop-up wording is fixed platform copy in the store's single language (Arabic or French, set under Customize → Store language) and is not merchant-editable.

Theme-specific extras appear as additional sections inside the same customize page once the theme is active.

Switching themes — what carries over and what doesn't

Your products, categories, orders, customers, addons, domains, payment & shipping settings all stay exactly where they are when you switch themes.

Hero headline / sub-headline / CTA, section titles, the banner image, your colours and your featured-product picks are stored on the store, not on the theme — they carry straight over and you do not need to re-enter them. A theme with no banner slot (Starter, Brico, Promobi) simply doesn't render one, and Starter's hero has no CTA link field.

Only the Digital theme's own layout data — hero slider slides, the two promo banners, the category strip, top sellers, popular-by-category and the multi-column block — is stored separately, and it is kept intact, so switching back to Digital restores it.

Two exceptions to "themes are presentation only":

  1. Switching to Digital converts your store to digital-products mode and rewrites any colours still sitting at their defaults to Digital's dark palette (white background → #0a0a1a, white navbar → #0f0f23, #1f2937 footer → #06060f, dark section titles and navbar text → light). Colours you chose yourself are left alone, and your Primary/Secondary are untouched.

  2. Switching a Digital store away from Digital converts it back to a physical store — the digital-products pages, the digital order flow and the digital payment paths stop working until you switch back.

💡 Tip — Digital and pure white

Digital is a dark theme, and it force-overrides a pure-white background or navbar back to its dark defaults. If you want a light background on Digital, use an off-white such as #fefefe — it sticks.

Theme-specific add-ons

Some addons are designed around a specific theme:

  • The Digital Product Variants addon (Pro plan, Digital theme only) replaces Digital's variant selector with a collapsible accordion in which each option shows its name, its final price (base + adjustment) and — for colour variants that carry a colour code — a colour dot. It does not show per-option preview images; in fact it removes them, because Digital's built-in picker already renders a thumbnail and a price pill for any option flagged show as card, and the addon hides that native picker and rebuilds the UI itself. See the Digital theme guide.

  • The Stop Desk Selector addon adds a structured stop-desk picker to checkout regardless of theme.

See the addons section for the full catalog.

Custom CSS

The Enterprise plan exposes a Custom CSS field in the customize page. CSS you put there is loaded after the theme stylesheet, so your rules win. See the Custom CSS guide for templates and a primer.

/* Round the "add to cart" buttons in product grids */
.add-to-cart { border-radius: 999px; }/* Softer product-card corners */
.product-card { border-radius: 16px; }

Search-box and hero selectors are theme-specific and homepage-only.brico-search, .sc-search (Showcase and Bloom), .pr-search, .pm-search, .mobile-search (Starter and Digital) — so inspect your own storefront before writing a rule against them. .btn-primary exists only on the order-confirmation page, not on the buttons most merchants want to restyle.

If a CSS edit makes your storefront look broken, clear the field and save to revert — there's no destructive change.

Frequently asked

Q: Will switching themes lose my data? A: No. Products / orders / settings persist. The two exceptions above apply to Digital only.

Q: Will my custom domain still work? A: Yes. Domains are tied to your store, not your theme.

Q: Can I switch back to my previous theme? A: Yes — hero copy, section titles, banners and colours are shared across themes, so your layout returns. One caveat: if you try Digital and switch back, any colours that were still at their defaults will have been rewritten to Digital's dark palette and are not restored. Re-set your background, navbar, footer, section-title and navbar-text colours by hand. (Reset would also do it, but remember Reset permanently deletes your uploaded logo, favicon and hero image.)

Q: Can I make my own theme? A: First-party themes only for now. The customize page + Custom CSS cover most needs; for a fully bespoke design talk to support about Enterprise.
