Storefront customization

Customize your DZBuild storefront — language, colors, fonts, hero, banners, header, product page, checkout, footer. Live preview on desktop, tablet and mobile.

Written by Support

DZBuild's customizer is a live editor: change a setting on the left, watch the storefront preview update on the right.

Where to find it

There is a single customize page: sidebar Personnaliser la boutique / تخصيص المتجرPersonnaliser / تخصيص (/dashboard/customize). It works for every theme.

Theme-specific options appear as extra sections inside that page once the theme is active — Prestige, for example, adds Hero, Categories, Featured, Banner, Branding and Testimonials. There is no /dashboard/customize/prestige page. A legacy standalone editor exists at /dashboard/customize/digital for Digital stores, but it isn't linked from the dashboard and redirects to /dashboard/customize if your theme isn't Digital.

What you can customize

The page is organised into these sections, plus whatever your active theme adds:

Custom CSS (Enterprise)

Inject any CSS to override theme defaults

Not available: there is no social-card/OG uploader (your logo is the share image), no Inter or Roboto font, no separate heading font, no hero video, no product picker for the featured block (use the Featured switch on each product — the homepage shows at most 8), no cart-popup text settings, no mobile-menu control and no footer payment icons. The themes with a mobile bottom navigation bar are Brico, Started V2 (showcase) and Bloom; every other theme, Digital included, uses the shared hamburger drawer.

Fast Checkout — the inline order form

The product page can carry an inline order form so a customer never has to reach the cart. Its controls sit in the Product page section: show/hide Fast Checkout (Pro), its title, its button text, its background colour, the button colour, the Buy-Now button colour, whether to show a notes field, single-column layout, field icons, and whether to hide the address field.

The form's visual style is a separate choice on Dashboard → Themes → Fast Checkout (Classique = Free, Commerce = Pro, Editorial = Unlimited, Compact and Stepper = Enterprise).

Workflow

  1. Open Dashboard → Customize.

  2. The left panel has all controls; the right panel shows a live preview of your storefront.

  3. Toggle between desktop, tablet and mobile previews at the top of the preview panel.

  4. Click Save when happy.

  5. There is no Discard button. To abandon unsaved edits, reload the page — nothing is stored until you press Save. The only other control is the ↺ Reset button beside Save, which restores factory defaults for the whole store and permanently deletes your uploaded images — it is not an undo.

When visitors see the change

You see the change instantly in the preview, and visitors normally see it within seconds of you pressing Save. If it hasn't appeared for you, it is almost always your own browser cache — hard-refresh or use a private window.

Uploading images from the customizer

Drag-and-drop or click any image control to upload — logo, hero, mobile hero, favicon and banners all work the same way, and the Digital theme's promo banners and hero slides have their own uploader inside the Digital sections.

Uploaded images are hosted and delivered for you on DZBuild's image CDN. Hero images, promo banners, category tiles, theme product grids and your header logo are resized automatically to the size they're displayed at, and banners are additionally compressed to WebP (max 2000 px) on upload, so a heavy source file is not a problem. The favicon is the one asset served exactly as uploaded, which is why its size must match one of the accepted values — see Branding.

Reset to defaults

🛑 Important — Reset deletes your uploaded images

Dashboard → Customize → ↺ Reset (/dashboard/customize/reset) restores a fixed Starter-style default — amber #f59e0b primary, white background, Cairo font, Arabic default headings — regardless of which theme you are on. It does not restore your theme's own palette.

It also permanently deletes your uploaded logo, favicon and desktop hero image from storage, and clears Custom CSS, the announcement text and your hero / section / footer copy. Products, orders and customers are untouched, but your brand assets are gone and must be re-uploaded.

Theme-specific options

Each theme adds its own sections to the customize page:

  • Digital — hero slider (3 image slides, each with a headline, button label and link) plus a sidebar widget, category strip, top sellers, popular-by-category, 2 promo banners, multi-column block.

  • Prestige — hero, categories, featured, promo banner, branding/social, testimonials.

  • Started V2 (showcase) — hero, categories, promo banner, featured, branding/social, 3 trust badges.

  • Bloom — hero, categories, featured, promo banner, 3 trust badges.

  • Promobi — hero, marquee (with a speed setting), catalogue, 3 trust badges.

  • Brico — sub-nav, categories, bestsellers, store info.

  • Starter — hero, categories, featured.

Card corner radius, navbar style and the footer settings are core options available on every theme. Grid density (2 / 3 / 4 columns) is not configurable on any theme.

See the per-theme docs for what each one looks like.

Reordering the product page (Pro+)

Pro, Unlimited and Enterprise stores can drag the product-page blocks into any order from the customize page: gallery, category, title, price, offers, variants, addons, buy buttons, fast checkout, description. A reset link puts them back in the default order.

Custom CSS (Enterprise)

The Enterprise plan exposes a Custom CSS field. Anything you put there is loaded after the theme stylesheet, so your rules win.

/* Round the "add to cart" buttons in product grids */
.add-to-cart { border-radius: 999px; }/* Softer product-card corners */
.product-card { border-radius: 16px; }

⚠️ Warning

Custom CSS is powerful but easy to break. If your storefront looks broken after a CSS edit, clear the field and save to revert — there's no destructive change.

Tips

  • Preview on a real phone, not just the mobile preview tab. Algerian buyers shop overwhelmingly on mobile, often on slow networks.

  • Your store runs in a single language — Arabic or French, chosen under Customize → Store language. Cart wording is fixed platform copy and cannot be edited. If you need a customer-facing language switcher, add the Multi-Language Store addon (Unlimited plan); it covers French and Arabic, and there is no English storefront locale.

  • Don't over-customize colors. Stick to two accent colors and let your photography do the rest.

  • After a big customization push, share your URL in WhatsApp privately — the share preview (your logo) is a quick sanity check.
